I’m Not Afraid of Getting Sick, I’m Afraid of Running Out of Food

I love grocery shopping. Before COVID-19, my mom and I would go to Trader Joes or Shop Rite on a weekly basis. She would get her flowers, I would get my fruits and veggies. Every once in a while, my parents and I would go to Costco for bulk shopping, like milk, coffee, meats, snacks, fruits and vegetables. But since the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve been getting our groceries delivered while my dad will occasionally go to the Asian grocery store. For me, I love getting our groceries delivered because I don’t like driving.

Recently, I spent almost $300 on groceries in 4 different places in the span of 8 days. Granted, I didn’t plan on it having all fall in the same time span. I bought stuff from Costco, Aldi, Shop Rite and Whole Foods. I mostly bought produce, like fruits and vegetables. I like to eat healthy, what’s the harm in that? I’m a chronic worrier, I worry about when my groceries will arrive, if they will have things in stock and making sure I get what I want. I can’t control what’s in and out of stock, so I try not to worry about that. But what I worry about the most is running out of food. I love fruits and vegetables, so does my family. We go through a bag of clementines very fast and we eat lots of meats and vegetables daily.
